FastKat Bars are great for pre-, during-, or post-exercise fueling or an on-the-go snack. The ingredients are simple and easy for your body to digest and convert into energy.


You have probably tried a variety of energy bars, rice cakes, chews, and gel packets for fuel on a long bike ride, run, hike, etc., like we have. We were always a little (or a lot) let down because I had not found a fuel source that was just right. We asked around about what makes the perfect bar, did a little research into energy sources and came up with the following bar requirements:

  1. Tasty but mild flavor. No one wants a bar that leaves a lingering bad taste in your mouth.

  2. Easy to chew, swallow, and does not require a full bottle of water to get down.

  3. Easy on the stomach. A bar with too much sugar, fat, protein, or artificial ingredients and flavors can cause gastrointestinal distress. The bar must have natural ingredients, little to no fructose (glucose is easier to absorb and use for energy production), and free of fake flavors.

  4. No dates. Sorry date-lovers, we just don’t like them.

With some experimenting in the kitchen, we found the formula that met all of the requirements in our book. After sharing with a few friends, a clever bike shop junkie came up with a name, and now FastKat Bars are available for purchase!
